Business Background
KPC is a management consultancy and executive coaching business which specialises in managing change within venture capital and private equity backed technology businesses. KPC executives take Board positions within companies and manage change from within. KPC’s consultancy style is to get below the surface of the businesses we get involved in. By taking a hands-on approach we gain a genuine understanding of our clients businesses and this allows us to work closely with management to provide innovative solutions tailored specifically to meet client’s needs. KPC provides a range of business management services aimed at adding value both at board level and for shareholders. By working with the board of directors, KPC is able to assist in the process of unlocking a company's potential. Companies can be compared to jigsaw puzzles: sometimes there are pieces missing, or puzzles are mixed up and the directors cannot see the full picture because they are too close to the problem.
What Inspired You to go Into coaching?
I have been doing “informal” coaching and mentoring for many years while undertaking consultancy work. I wanted to improve my coaching techniques and decided to get some formal training via CFM.
Your Qualifications & Training
• ILM Level 5 Diploma
• BSc (Hons) Applied Physics & Mathematics
Specialist Areas of Coaching
I focus on business coaching areas. My experience of owning and managing companies has given me an unparalleled insight into the growing pains and problems facing business leaders.
Recommended Reading
‘NLP – the new art and science of getting what you want’ by Dr Harry Alder. This NLP book is an excellent complimentary read to coaching books and training material. It’s practical, easy to read and helps puts many of the coaching techniques into perspective. A useable useful coaching development tool.
Greatest Coaching Moment
The day one of my coachees after 3 coaching sessions resigned his job and started his own business. 12 months later he asked me to join his company as a Non Executive Director to help him grow and develop his business. The new business is going from strength to strength and I am just about to undertake a coaching strategy session for all the staff. I am very proud of this coaching work.
What is Your Future Vision for Your Coaching?
‘Inspirational’ and ‘motivational’ coaching to help people achieve their goals and dreams. I have great self belief which I want to share with others. I now have the first hand experience which has shown me how coaching can change people’s business lives. This has heightened my confidence in my coaching abilities.
Your Philosophy
By build early rapport with coachees, I gain a clear understanding of the issues. I am committed to instilling self belief in clients and by using visualisation techniques, work with my clients to help them build self confidence to achieve their business goals and personal objectives
What Is the Most Important Question You Are Asking Yourself Right Now?
How can I continue to improve and grow as a coach? Having learned the basics I need to find ways to push me out of my comfort zone. So the challenging question is how do I do this?

Senergy regards People Development as a key factor in overall company success. We use Mentoring as part of our People Development and benefit greatly from the expertise of CFM who provide an excellent programme for us in Mentoring Skills. Mentoring has been well embedded in the organisation for some time now but we like to offer our mentors the chance of working towards a recognised qualification. The Strathclyde University association through Peter Hill and CFM has given added interest to the initiative.
