Certificate Of Professional Development

This qualification offers a platform that has academic rigour and practical experience that enables the participant to become competent in the art of coaching. There are six days of tutorial support as well as a blend of fieldwork, open learning, 360° feedback, self study through use of MBTI, and reflection that make up this comprehensive programme.

The academic rigour is provided by a before and after assessment against the competencies, verification of the participants coaching log, a case study and an interview with a member of the University of Strathclyde's Centre for Lifelong Learning.

Notes for Coaches, Mentoring by Peter Hill

Peter Hill’s “Mentoring” is a clear, concise, well laid out reference guide with good definitions of mentoring and coaching outlining the differences, similarities and overlaps. It is a very practical book for both mentor and mentee. I recommend it to anyone learning for the first time or seeking a refresher on mentoring, what the role of a mentor is, the skills of a mentor, how to manage the process as well as some case study examples of how some people use a mentor.
